File Scan

The File Scan section in Cool Info FX is a powerful search utility that allows you to search for any number of specified files on the system. In addition, it allows you to narrow down your search by using already created ‘Ignore rules’ such as ‘Ignore a file when its location equals c:\recycler’ or you can create your own rules. File Scan returns several properties associated with the files:

  • Name – Displays the name of the file.
  • Loaded From – Displays the path of the file on a given drive.
  • Company Name – Displays the name of the Company who originally created the file.
  • Product Name – Displays the name of the program the file is associated with. 
  • Product Version – Displays the Product Version of the program the file is associated with.
  • File Version – Displays the current Version of the file.
  • Description – Displays a brief description of the file or program.
  • Created – Displays the date the file was originally created.
  • Modified – Display the date the file was last modified.
  • Size – Displays the size of the file.

    To open the File Scan Programs List section:

    From the Cool Info FX View Menu, click on Software Installed > File Scan.
