What's New in Cool Info FX

With the release of Cool Info FX, there are now more and better features to help manage your computer and client computers.

NEW CATEGORIES

  • Client Computers - You can view all the same system information ( See Also My Computer) you can get now on your computer running Cool Info FX, but you can get that information from a client computer also running Cool Info FX.
  • System Summary - This section in Cool Info FX reveals information about the system such as BIOS information, Operating System information, and Computer Name. 
  • Application Activity Log - Cool Info FX allows you to view the activity of any application that runs while Cool Info FX is running. Cool Info FX will show the application name along with the date and time the application was ran.
  • Applications In Memory - The Applications in Memory section displays all running applications on a computer. Giving the Cool Info FX user a snapshot of current activity.
  • Drivers Installed - The Drivers Installed section displays information for all drivers installed on a system.
  • Internet History - to track what web pages have been viewed on your computer or on a client’s computer.
  • Open TCP/IP Ports - This feature allows the user to scan for any open ports that are on the machine.

OTHER NEW FEATURES

  • Export - Cool Info FX has made it easier to export your system information in a standard file format. Added ability to export to SQL Server. You can send export report via e-mail as well. See Also Exporting
  • Options - The Tools Menu > Options makes it easier to access a computer's resource reports.

     

    • Perform a new Port Scan - allows to check all ports on a computer.


    • Network Tab - has been added so you can have the option to have Cool Info FX automatically startup when your computer is started, set the security mode etc.






    • Run CoolInfo on network as - you can set now the mode of operation of CoolInfo on a local network. Standard mode allows CoolInfo to accept network requests and to send network requests to other computer also. Server mode allows CoolInfo to send network requests to any computer but rejects incoming requests from any other computers. Secure mode allows CoolInfo to accept requests from the CoolInfo running in server mode only. All other requests will be rejected.
    • Run CoolInfo network client at system startup, Run as service, Limit CPU usage to - CoolInfo could be started at the local machine automatically at the user login. If you want to start it before any user has been logged in then you should check the flag Run as service. You can limit CPU usage of running CoolInfo processes.
    • Monitor Internet and Programs automatically - Also, for added security, the user can now select to have Cool Info FX monitor internet use and program use whenever Cool Info FX is started, or for more privacy, this feature can be turned off.


    • Maintenance tab - added ability to compact local history database automatically.






    • E-Mail tab - settings to send e-mail reports.



     

  • Report Viewer - Cool Info FX’s new Report Viewer gives a summarized report of all components on your machine, along with a report of other clients computers.
  • Interface Changes - And finally there have been some changes made to the interface, such as a time and date display, caps lock/scroll lock/ num lock and character insertion indicator added to the window.
