General Network Information

The General Network Information section gives an overview of basic network information from the TCP/IP Address to Internet connections.
- Active Internet Connection – Displays the type of Internet connection used. (Ex LAN, MODEM, PROXY) More than one can be connected at one time but only one can be used.
- Internet Connection on LAN? – Displays whether a LAN based Internet connection is currently open on the system.
- Internet Connection on Modem? – Displays whether an Internet connection is currently open through a local modem.
- Internet Connection uses Proxy? – Displays whether a Proxy is used to establish an Internet connection.
- Internet Explorer Description – Displays a brief description about the version of Internet Explorer installed on the system.
- Internet Explorer Version – Displays the current version of Internet Explorer installed on the system.
- Internet is Online - Displays whether an Internet connection is currently active on the system.
- MAC Address – Displays the MAC Address.
- Network is Present? – Displays whether the system is connected to LAN.
- RAS is Installed – Displays whether Remote Access Server (RAS) is installed on the system.
- TCP/IP Address(s) – Displays the current IP Address for the system. IP Addresses can be assigned by your ISP or can be static meaning you always have the same IP Address.
To open the General Network Information section:
From the Cool Info XP View Menu, click on Network > General Network Information.
