Security

Information entered on the Security Tab is used to secure LaptopLocate.net from unwanted changes of the information provided in it. Although none of this information is required, if you want to keep the information you provide to LaptopLocate.net secure from other users, set a password for your personal use. Keep track of your password but do not write it down in an obvious place.

Password: A Password of your choosing.
Re-Type Password: Confirm your password by typing it again.
Enable Tracking: Turns the tracking process on. Note: You can only enable tracking after a test email has been sent. Go to the Email Tab and enter the required information and then click the "Send Test Email" button.
Disable Tracking: Turns the tracking process off. Note: if you turn tracking off, LaptopLocate.net will not be able to offer assistance in tracking this computer.

If you have set a password for security, each time you open LaptopLocate.net you will be prompted to enter that password to verify ownership and to make changes to your settings.
